I'm joined by Dr Pete Watson, an expert on Latin American politics and football, to discuss the role of football in the politics of South American dictatorships between 1950s-1980s.

UK listeners of a certain age will remember the Football Italia show on Channel 4 in the 1990s and early 2000s. Jonathan Grade started out as a runner on the show from its inception and gradually rose through the ranks. He has now written a book about his decade with the show. 

My guest is Kevin Simpson, author of 'Soccer Under the Swastika', which examines the experience of football in Nazi-occupied areas during World War II. 

My guest is Llew Walker, who's written a new biography of Andrew Watson, the world's first black international footballer. Watson played for Queen's Park, captained Scotland, and also turned out for Corinthian FC.
